Dr Parvinder Sohi Behuria

Dr Parvinder Sohi Behuria is a retired IRS (1977 Batch). She is currently the Chairperson of the Quality Review Board established by the Central Government under the Chartered Accountants Act, 1949 for reviewing the quality of services provided by the Chartered Accountants in India. She had been appointed by the Government of India as the Chairperson, in 2015 and further re-appointed in 2018 for another 3 years. She had earlier served as Secretary, National Human Rights Commission in the rank of Secretary to the Government of India. She has also served as Member, Central Board of Direct Taxes. Her long and illustrious career includes her contribution to the Information Technology Reforms project of the Income Tax Department, specifically the implementation and stabilisation of the Permanent Account Number. During her deputation to the Department of Personnel, she served as Secretary, Public Enterprise Selection Board where she implemented reforms in the systems and procedures of selection of Board level public sector appointments.

She has a PhD in Business Administration from the University of the Philippines and a Masters in English Literature from Southern Methodist University, Dallas, Texas. She has been trained in the Leaders in Development program in the Kennedy School of Government, Harvard University, and also at the University of Cambridge, and at the Wharton School of Business.
