About Leprosy

Leprosy is a curable bacterial disease, yet deep-rooted stigma continues to affect millions in India. Early detection and treatment are key—what’s needed now is awareness, empathy, and inclusion for those still facing discrimination.

About Us

Established in 2006 by Yohei Sasakawa, S-ILF is dedicated to restoring dignity and opportunities for leprosy survivors and their families through sustainable livelihoods, education, and advocacy to eliminate discrimination and stigma in Indian society.
