Maa Janki Nagar Kushth Ashram, Sitamarhi district of Bihar was submerged in floodwaters and the residents were forced to live in temporary tents. As part of our immediate response, tarpaulin sheets have been made available to the residents. In addition, for the prevention of water-borne diseases, bleaching powder and oral rehydration solutions were provided.
Recent floods in Hyderabad have caused havoc in the leprosy colonies of the state, which came as an additional problem to the prevailing covid. S-ILF has provided dry ration kits for 168 households (more than 500 people) in collaboration with Tech Mahindra Foundation.
The Bureau of His Holiness Dalai Lama observed the year 2020-21 as the Year of Gratitude. In collaboration with us, 300 blankets were distributed to persons affected by leprosy living in Tahirpur Leprosy Complex, New Delhi.
S-ILF has been working to improve the quality of education for the children in the colonies. In the prevailing times of digital learning, S-ILF collaborated with CII for support. Recently, many children from the colonies raised the need for laptops for their studies. S-ILF took this issue on a priority basis and launched an appeal to support children in colonies by providing laptops.
We have reached out to more than 10,000 families across 184 leprosy colonies with dry ration and essential supplies support during Covid.
