Skill Training- Bridging the gap

Several youths are not able to complete their studies due to financial and other social constraints. Skill-training is a means whereby skills of these dropout youth are enhanced through vocational training, enabling decent employment, else they would have engaged in begging or petty jobs, daily labor, etc.

To date, more than 850 youth have benefited from the program. In 2013-14, National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC) provided a grant to S-ILF for an employment-linked skill development program for the states of Delhi, Bihar, Chhattisgarh, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

Since then S-ILF has partnered with established training organizations such as CII, DB Tech, Pratham, GMR Varalaxmi Foundation, NIIT, Wockhardt Health Education Institute, Gram Tarang, ADTC, and ICICI Foundation, to provide skill training and placement to our youth.

Some of the popular trades offered are hospitality, healthcare, retail sales, refrigeration, and air conditioning, cargo management, electricals, industrial sewing machine operator, computer networking & hardware, accountancy, data entry operator, construction, and beauty culture among others.
